L’Oréal Canada mobilized for a better integration of people with disabilities in our society

L'Oréal Canada wants to move the world towards a more inclusive society. Our commitment includes actively providing financial support of organizations such as the Fondation les Petits Rois, a non-profit that helps children and young adults with intellectual disabilities, and Regroupement pour la Trisomie 21 (RT21), a charity that works to ensure the development of people with trisomy 21.

Last August, L'Oréal Canada organized two fundraising activities for the Fondation les Petits Rois and RT21.

WALK FOR LES PETITS ROIS

On August 19, fifteen L'Oréal Canada employees took part in a 5km fundraising-walk to help with an extraordinary integration project: the construction of a living space for young adults living with an intellectual disability with or without an autism spectrum disorder. The connected house is an innovative project designed to include Les Petits Rois who have grown up into Quebec society. This home environment will help them develop their autonomy, their self-determination and maintain their acquired skills.

5-YEAR PROFESSIONAL INTERNSHIP FOR LES PETITS ROIS AT L’ORÉAL CANADA’S HEAD OFFICE

Following a long-standing partnership with the Fondation Les Petits Rois, L'Oréal Canada is pleased to welcome eight young adults to its head office for a five-year internship. The goal is to prepare them for a professional life and to help them become self-sufficient. Their presence is a source of inspiration for everyone who meets them, so twice a week during the school year, they carry out various tasks such as replenishing the photocopiers with paper, preparing mailings, watering plants, shredding documents, washing the boards in meeting rooms, etc.

A WINNING PROJECT AT THE BEAUTY OF INCLUSION AWARDS

The integration project with Les Petits Rois was acclaimed as a great success at the first edition of the Beauty of Inclusion Awards launched by the L'Oréal Group in 2021. It ranked as one of the North American Zone winners and one of the global finalists in the Our Communities category. The Beauty of Inclusion Awards is one of the many initiatives that the L’Oréal Group designed to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.

RT21’S THREE, 2, 1, GO! RACE

On August 20, L'Oréal Canada took part in the THREE, 2, 1, GO! race for the Regroupement pour la Trisomie 21 as a Bronze Shoe partner. For the occasion, 850 people came together at Montreal’s Maisonneuve Park to walk, run, and enjoy a picnic in a festive atmosphere. Quite a popular activity with participants, the L'Oréal Canada booth welcomed over 400 visitors who received La Roche-Posay, Biotherm and Pureology samples and who also had the opportunity to enter a draw for four gift baskets of L'Oréal products.

The event raised $54,000. The money will be used to support the organization's various services, such as the language stimulation program, specialized child development services and new socialization activities for seniors.

Together, we can help create a better world for tomorrow, a fairer and more inclusive world.

Let's create the beauty and be the difference that moves the world forward.
