Each year, L’Oréal employees around the world have opportunity to support non-profit social and environmental organizations during their work time.
Employees can get involved in various initiatives, such as renovating non-profits’ premises, production of hygiene kits or collecting waste.
In 2019, for the 10th edition of the Citizen Day, a total of 27,600 employees volunteered, helping 969 non-profit organizations in 61 countries. This represents 156,200 hours volunteered.
In 2020, in spite of the global pandemic, 7,587 employees were able to volunteer, through new digital initiatives that complied with sanitary rules.
In 2021, during our international solidarity day, most of 16,411 employees involved were able to reconnect with the traditional format of Citizen Day. It took place on the ground, in direct contact with non-profit organizations and their beneficiaries, with a total of almost 650 different solidarity assignments. When health measures did not allow in-person engagement, Citizen Day was able to reinvent itself and allowed for new forms of engagement through hybrid or remote participation models.
