L’Oréal Men Expert X Movember: Raising Awareness Around Men’s Mental Health
Break the stigma and start talking about men’s mental health
November is here and it’s that time of the year when the moustache becomes a badge of honor, and hairy conversations are a mean to amplify awareness around men’s health.

Men have been taught that saying “I’m not ok” is a weakness, too many of them will experience a period of depression in their lifetime.
This year, L’Oréal Paris Men Expert is committed to help break the stigma surrounding male depression. Since 2017, the brand has contributed €2.95 million to the Movember Foundation, the only non-profit organization that tackles Men’s Health on a global scale. These donations support medical research programs and early intervention of Men who are struggling.
Tackling men’s mental health
The aim of Movember is to bring Men’s health to the forefront and to ensure that men are living happier, healthier, longer lives. ‘Changing the face of men’s health’ is a concept that couldn’t be closer to the heart of L’Oreal’s Men Expert.
To show their commitment, L’Oréal Paris Men Expert has decided to raise awareness of the Movember Conversations platform, an online tool to help Men stay socially connected and mentally well with guidance on how to handle Men in your life - friend, colleague, or family- who might feel low using the A.L.E.C method.
The pledge: encourage 1.5 million people to talk about male depression by 2022.

Inviting men who may be struggling to talk about their feelings might be a little easier thanks to the ALEC methodology, a simple 4-step plan:
ASK Start by asking how he’s feeling.
LISTEN Give him your full attention.
ENCOURAGE ACTION Help him to focus on simple things that could improve how he feels.
CHECK IN Follow up after your chat.
