L’Oréal for All Generations, the new program for all ages

Supporting employees throughout their careers

For the first time in history, four generations currently coexist in the workplace. But as careers become longer, the understanding gap between generations can get wider and employability should be boosted all career long. Companies have an active role to play to turn this challenge into an opportunity.

L’Oréal has been committed to the inclusion of experienced employees for a long time. Notably, the “Generaciones” initiative in Spain was launched in December 2019 and was a finalist for the Beauty of Inclusion Awards earlier this year.

Going beyond this great initiative, L’Oréal is launching in 2022, a global program, “L’Oréal for All Generations”. The program has been officially kicked off in France in July of this year with the Generations Days event.

The L'Oréal For All Generations program is intended for all employees, with a particular focus on the most experienced. For this reason, the program will be deployed as a priority end of 2022- first quarter of 2023 in countries and regions where at least 20% of employees are over 50 years old, such as the USA, Japan and Europe (France, Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Portugal, United Kingdom and Ireland).

Our ambition is to develop it everywhere progressively. We believe in this intergenerational model where dialogue and collaboration among people of all ages are a real lever for growth.

This program is dedicated to the professional fulfillment of all L'Oréal employees, from the time they join the company until their retirement, focusing on five key areas:

  • Promote intergenerational Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
  • Adapt health and wellness programs
  • Help employees to develop their employability throughout their career
  • Prepare in advance for a successful transition to retirement
  • Facilitating new life projects for the post-L'Oréal era.

Concrete actions are already in place in some priority countries, such as Learning actions all career long, Mentoring initiatives, workshops/coaching to prepare the transition to retirement...

New initiatives will come such as an intergenerational e-learning by the end of this year.

L’Oréal for All Generations puts "working together" back at the center of our professional practices and reinforces the social connection that unites our employees of all ages.
