The history between L’Oréal and the Netherlands goes back to 1913, when the company, then called Richard Wernekinck & Co, started selling products in the region.
Our headquarters, based in Hoofddorp since 2008, were located in Amsterdam until 1956 before moving to Uithoorn, Alphen aan de Rijn, where our distribution center still stands.
Every day, our nearly 500 employees work hard to ensure that our 36 brands reach a leading position in their business segments. Tech innovations and sustainability play a central role in the development of our business.

At L’Oréal, we care for animal welfare and we do not test on animals. We are for beauty with no animal testing.
Since 1989, 14 years before the "EU" regulations required us to do so, we have not tested the safety of our products on animals.
Because we care about animal welfare, over 40 years ago, L’Oréal pioneered the development of human reconstructed skin that can be used to evaluate how cosmetic ingredients and products behave on human skin.
